My 5 dollar art

I love a good cheap project! When I saw this paper all over blog land (here and here) I was smitten too! There's a blank wall in my kitchen just begging for something so that's where my marbled paper landed! Pretty paper in a frame, simple, easy and cheap!

p.s How great would it be with a picture light?!

Not your typical diaper bag

I got one of those huge diaper bags as a gift the first time around and it felt like luggage especially when hauling the carseat too. I'm somewhat due for a new handbag since I spilled Gideon's drink in mine on vacation, but I definitely lean towards the smaller incognito sized diaper bags! Check em out!

Best place on earth {Ocean City, NJ}

I grew up 25 minutes from Ocean City NJ and but never had a week stay there, well let the annual tradition begin! We picked a slightly out of season time for the rates which is why we're bundled up on the beach, but happily spent our time flying kites, eating boardwalk food, attending the local church we love, and watching Gideon brave the cold water!

Adam and I hit up the oxygen bar for some extra energy!

Here's our beach house....we'll definitely be back next year!

Storybook Land

Hey friends, I'm checking in from our beach rental in Ocean City, Nj. Our vacation would be amiss if we didn't take Gideon to nearby Storybook Land. My sister and I have the exact same pictures of us at Storybook land in our scrapbooks! This place is a permanent fixture in Southern New Jersey and never fails to disappoint, perfect size kiddie rides, water ice, and animals to boot!

 Gorgeous white peacock.

Gideon's bubble gum water ice, I have to say my mango flavor was the best!

8 month bump has brought lots of contractions, which is exciting considering I never went into labor with Gideon!

Boardwalk ballerina

Meet Lily, I had the blessing of capturing her at the boardwalk modeling her dance costumes for her upcoming recital; what a gem. Our time together was such a joy, thank you Lily! For more of her, head over to the photo blog.

Favorites Friday: Off to the beach

Our bags are packed and ready for the beach, unfortunately I don't think the weather got the memo. They are calling for rain every single day of next week! Owell, I'm just excited to get to know my husband again and partake in boardwalk food!

Other sunny links from this week:

Matryoshka doll baby shower (I love those dolls!)

Pink shorts please!

And the song that blew me away this week

I'll probably be checking in from the beach especially if we have alot of wet weather!
Have a great one, everyone!

Nursery gallery wall

The nursery is finally in its end stages! This is the gallery wall featuring some of my favorite prints. My sister keeps reminding me I'm having a boy!!! This will only be his room for a short while, which is why its a bit on the feminine side!

Butterfly art from TJmaxx

This is my favorite piece of the entire room from ikea, so fitting for a nursery.

The deeply madly in love print is by madebygirl, I adore it in the room.

This print is from laybabylay.....a free printable and such a great verse.
More of the nursery next week!

Ready for my humbling moment?

image here

So we were in the car this past weekend and husband and I were bickering. Ok, a little more then bickering and as were going back and forth, we hear from our 4 year old in the back seat, " Forgive each other, forgive each other!
Wow, talk about humbling and oh so powerful moment; 7 times 70 times, right?! Great advice Gideon, so we did!

"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."

Roman shade glitch

I came across a glitch in my roman shade method that I wanted to share and hopefully spare some of you some pain too! On the back of the shade from Home depot they are now covering the loop that holds the drawstring with a plastic cover?! Just pull that right off and thread the drawstring directly through the ring and re-tie it at the bottom. Your shade should work fine following that mending! Here's the shade I did for Gideon' room!

I keep receiving lots of questions on the how-to of these roman shades, please keep shooting over questions...I"m considering doing a video so as to clear up any confusion!! Let me know if you'd like one?!!
