That head cold that my husband, sister, and kiddo all battled with has finally made it to me! I'll be holed up with a warm drink at home today. Kitchen pictures tomorrow, promise!
This weekend was full of fall fun..... we found an amazing park, threw rocks in the water, rode bikes, picked pumpkins, and finished the kitchen! Details on that tomorrow!
One of the sole reasons I work at the hospitals is to keep perspective. There's no way I can for one second think about myself as I tend people who shouldn't have cancer, disease, and heartache. This week I remain so thankful for all of the riches and I mean riches esepecially compared to the world (If you can read this, you are rich). My week started off at church featuring World help an organization that brings clean water to the nations. 6,000 children die everyday because of dirty water....astounding and unacceptable.
These images just celebrate treasured moments in lives by the incredbily talented wildflowers photography.
I love secrets. Not about people but to people. Ya know their idiosyncracies, oddities, quirks, and delights. It takes time and patience to unlock those hidden truths. The "getting to know each other thing" which my husband and I still work on daily believe it or not! This concept blew me away while watching, "How to train your dragon" spending time with his dragon revealed the innerworkings! So applicable to our relationship with God, we only know him by spending time with him. Such a rich lesson for me and all from a kids movie!
"The Lord confides in those who fear him, he makes His covenants known." Ps 24:15
Now if I could just figure out how to train my dragon?!
Just had to share this amazing engagement story, mainly because it involves two people who are dear to us; Joe and Jill. Joe is a marine and Jill is a physical therapist! He organized this most elaborate treasure hunt for Jill sending her to different locations throughout the D.C area each with a Marine in dress blues with a single rose and a question she had to answer! The last rose led her to Joe at the Lincoln memorial accompanied by all the handsome marines in their dress blues which of course drew a crowd. That's where the question was finally asked, "Will you marry me?" Oh and he hired a photographer (Michelle Cross) to capture it all, what a guy.
Sweet kiki took some family photos of us for me!! Found out hubs will be unavailable for the ball, major bummer. But made the most of some ball gowns and used em for our pictures!! Smiles all around, that is except for Gideon who choose our picture day to uncooperate (putting it nicely!)
So thrilled to greet friday! This week was full and its certainly time to unwind. Plan on editing photos, capturing a home photoshoot, spending time with hubs, and trying to unsolve the great mystery of photoshop! Here's some inspiration from this week!
The traffic around these parts kinda runs our lives, such a shame! I'm dreaming of a slower pace and country loving like this dreamy wedding photographed by Terra Dawn, feast your eyes.
Our weekend was jam packed and included a tour of the helicopter hangar, I've been a couple a times but remain amazed! Hardly ever wear lipstick but thought I'd be bold and go for coral to brighten the backdrop of all that dark green!
