Our living room

Yes, that artwork is hiding our flat screen TV quite nicely thanks to my sister who screwed an L bracket on the top of it!! (such secret squirrels!)

Cushion from Homegoods and sheepskin rug that my husband wanted (love that!) from Ikea!

Cherry blossom artwork from Ikea, commemorating our time in Japan and reminding me I've yet to see the live Cherry Blossoms in Japan or here!!! (shame on me!)

That little bust is Beethoven and found him plus two others at goodwill all for a dollar!

My husband is the music man, 10 years of classical piano from his lovely piano teaching Mom and self taught on the guitar, did I mention he flies helicopters too?! Crazy talented.

Seahorse is from Okinawa as well as the bowl and Capiz shell balls.

Fleeting

I think its a combination between the spring flowers blooming then changing and the quick turn of my fragile patient the other day helping me to count my days and relish the joys lately. Life really is so fleeting.

On a total aside, must tell you my husband hand delivered the most embarrassing gorgeous display of purple roses you ever did see at my work yesterday for no occasion. So inspiring.
So today I'm setting out to treasure my moments!

I've never bought an original work of art, but I think I just might after viewing Mark Lawrence's abstract pieces inspired by scripture. I'm blown away, take a look.

Awkward space

So I have this awkward space where the contractor of this house decided to short change the kitchen and not extend it all the way to the wall. So frustrating!

So naturally I put a horse head on it!!! We already named him Mr.Ed and while he may not be for everyone, he adds that element of surprise that I love and quirkiness too!

So the question remains, should I paint that slice of wall he's mounted on gray, leave it, or extend the wallpaper that I have on the adjacent wall, seen here. I need your opinions, o wise design saavy friends!

You should hear all the conversation that has revolved around him already, hysterical!

On a total aside, look what hubs got me, the lucite coffee table!!!

Meet our new beachpark

Every waking hour we lived in Okinawa Japan was spent at this remarkably beautiful beachpark, just mere steps from our home (I know we were spoiled rotten! )
Since then we've been on a mad search for a replacement and today we found it! It's not nearly as close to our home, but meets my 3 year old's insatiable need to throw rocks in the water!
